Three levels of coverage

The right camera depends on what you're protecting against. Insurance defense, driver coaching, and blind-spot risk are three different problems — and they don't need the same hardware.

Why video

Protect your drivers and your business

The road is unpredictable, no matter how skilled your drivers are. Our dash cameras not only provide HD video to protect against false claims and costly disputes, but also give fleet managers real-time insights into unsafe driving behaviors and critical events.

When accidents happen, having video evidence can dramatically reduce the time, stress, and expense of proving what really occurred. You don't just see what happened — you see why it happened, giving you the confidence to protect your drivers, your reputation, and your bottom line.

One platform

Visibility in a single pane of glass

Fleet safety is easier to manage when everything works together. With dash cameras that integrate directly into the Geotab ecosystem, video and telematics data live side by side in one platform.

No need to juggle multiple systems — fleet managers can monitor driver performance, coach more effectively, and strengthen safety initiatives from a single, unified view.

We spec the camera to the vehicle and the risk

A refuse truck working a residential route and a long-haul tractor need different systems. We carry the lines we'd actually put in your vehicles, and we'll tell you which one fits rather than pushing whatever we have most of.

Common questions

Before you ask

Do the cameras record continuously, or only when something happens?

Both, in effect. The camera records continuously to local storage, and safety events — hard braking, a collision, a distraction trigger — are uploaded automatically so you see them without going looking. Managers can also request a specific clip from the continuous footage when they need it.

That split matters because uploading everything all the time would be expensive and unusable. What you get is the exceptions pushed to you, with the rest available on demand.

Can drivers turn the camera off?

No. The systems are tamper-resistant and disconnection is reported, so a camera that stops seeing the road doesn't go unnoticed.

Driver-facing lenses are a separate question from road-facing ones, and how you handle them is a policy decision we'll walk through with you rather than one the hardware makes for you.

How do we handle driver privacy concerns?

Directly, and early. Driver-facing video is the single biggest source of resistance to a camera program, and fleets that roll it out without explaining it first tend to spend the next year fighting about it.

Two things help. First, choose the right tier — if the goal is insurance defense, Road Only gets you there without an in-cab lens at all. Second, be specific with drivers about what's recorded, what triggers an upload, and who can view it. Most objections are about the unknown rather than the camera.

We've done this rollout enough times to help you plan the conversation, not just install the hardware.

How long is footage stored, and who can access it?

Retention and access are configurable, and they vary by camera system and plan. Access is role-based, so you decide who in your organization can pull video and who only sees safety scores.

Will this work with the Geotab account we already have?

Yes — that's the main reason to buy cameras through us rather than as a standalone system. Video and telematics land in the same platform, so a harsh-braking event has the trip, the route, and the vehicle attached to it instead of sitting in a separate portal you have to cross-reference by timestamp.

Does video evidence actually lower insurance premiums?

It can, but it's not automatic. Some carriers offer a direct discount for installing cameras; more often the benefit shows up at renewal, when you can demonstrate a downward trend in preventable incidents and resolve claims faster with footage.

The larger financial case is usually claims defense rather than premium reduction — a single disputed accident where video establishes fault can outweigh a year of discount.

How long does installation take?

It depends on the system and your preferences.

A road-facing camera is a straightforward install. Multi-camera systems take longer because each lens has to be positioned for the vehicle. For professional installation, we coordinate with your team to minimize downtime.

Whether you want a quick deployment or a systematic rollout, we work with you every step of the way.
